Job Description

Veritude is looking for Big Data Developers at Fidelity Investments.  These roles will be based in Smithfield, RI.


The Business Intelligence group within the Fidelity Brokerage Technology organization has multiple opportunities for Sr. Software Big Data Engineer Developers. The Business Intelligence group is responsible for delivering reporting solutions to external facing Fidelity customers.

These developers should be able to work on multiple medium to large projects. The successful candidates will have excellent technical skills (PL/SQL, Oracle, Informatica, Hadoop, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, Data Analysis, relational/dimensional modeling) and also will be able to take oral and written business requirements and develop efficient code to meet the deliverable's


The ideal Sr. Software Engineer Developer's will have a combination of technical skills, communication skills and business knowledge. These roles will need to coordinate activities and the deliverable's across multiple reporting and data work-streams for a global team working closely with other IT/development partners.

Development / Project Work
•    Working closely with the product manager, project manager, data/systems analysts, QA, and partners to understand requirements and develop solutions that can be scaled and deliver business value and satisfy functional requirements
•    Performing solution alternatives to support business requirements
•    Reviewing design and development specs of other colleagues
•    Attending daily stand-ups to communicate status of work and assist with triage of issues/defects
•    Preparing for, attending and supporting monthly/quarterly installs
Production Support 
•    Researching and analyzing production reporting incidents.
•    Driving incidents to resolution, including identifying root cause and delivering solutions.
•    Being part of a rotation to support the production environment
•    Assessing the business impact of outages and ensuring proper notification and advances.

Required Qualifications:
•    Five to eight years of experience in database development with a primary focus of Oracle
•    A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Solid PL/SQL coding experience
•    At least 2+ years of Big Data Development Experience
•    At least 1 year of experience working in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Experience in the Financial Services space
