Veritude is seeking a Cloud Capacity Architect at Fidelity Investments. This position is based in Westlake, TX

We are seeking a Cloud Capacity Architect for Enterprise Capacity, Availability, Performance team for work with cloud development and deployment teams to define cloud capacity and operational monitoring strategy and best practices.   Must have 10+ years’ experience in Application Development, and AWS/Azure Cloud Solutions Architect certification.  Experience in proven delivery and proposing solutions, roadmaps and collaboratively defining solutions and the needed architecture to enable it.  Excellent communication skills with ability to describe complex ideas into simple understandable nomenclature and gain agreements.

In this role you will work with above teams on defining, implementing and governing/measuring the patterns we will use to manage cloud migration and operation effectively with focus on capacity, availability and performance. You will make sure that rules of auto-scaling and end-to-end capacity planning takes into account the limits of the overall system (cloud tiers scale to the level where other downstream systems can operate reliably and within tolerance). You will also be responsible to work with network teams to assess and design patterns needed for cloud egress and ingress capacity as more workload moves to cloud over the years.

  • Experience in proven delivery and proposing solutions, roadmaps and collaboratively defining solutions and the needed architecture to enable it
  • Ability to understand high level problem and break it down to execution
  • In depth understanding of application deployment and management patterns
  • Fluency in core/scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Go and Java as well as strong unix/shell skills
  • Working knowledge of AWS other cloud platforms
  • Ability to identify integration patterns and points between various design areas and should be able to track the implementation of integrations
  • Ability to analyze business direction and problem, understand long term vision and risk and develop strategy and guide technical solutions
  • Ability to identify measurable dimensions (including ROI)  of a business problem and present the options with pros and cons
  • Excellent presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills as well as skills which present/influence technology direction in business context to the stakeholders
  • Experience of agile development cycle using Scrum, including backlog development, iteration planning, and iteration tracking.
