Job Description

Veritude is hiring for a Cloud Pipeline Technologist at Fidelity Investments in Westlake, TX.

We are seeking a Cloud Pipeline Technologist primarily responsible for designing, developing and testing Rich Internet Applications, with emphasis on usability, consistency and aesthetics. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of design/development tools (not limited to) Adobe Flex, FlexUnit, AJAX, iOS, Android, etc. They will work closely with the project team to develop concepts, prototypes and front end production code to support new features and functionality. 

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development and DevOps
  • Experience  in agile software development processes, including CI/CD
  • Experience with DevOps tools like Concourse, Jenkins, Artifactory etc
  • Comprehensive experience with scripting languages (Python is desirable)
  • Familiarity the cloud computing concepts and practices
  • AWS Cloud Certification

The Purpose of Your Role

As DevOps Pipeline Technologist you will work within the Continuous Delivery team to focus on enabling seamless provisioning and management of cloud accounts and infrastructure. You will be reporting to the Lead of the Cloud Account Management team. This role is focused on hands-on development and delivery, which requires a combination of both strong technical and influencing skills, as well as participation in architecture, design and analysis activities.

  • You are fluent in core/scripting languages such as Python as well as strong unix/shell skills
  • Your strong understanding of application deployment and management patterns
  • Your knowledge of 12 Factor principles, API Design and deployment patterns/strategies
  • Your knowledge of AWS CloudFormation Templates
  • Your ability to build support among key stakeholders across business units for proposed strategies and solutions
  • Your ability to provide technical leadership to the development, QA and support teams in preparing the design artifacts and implementation of solutions
  • You’re currently developing automation
  • Your ability to work on initiatives and projects that cut across divisional and organizational boundaries; working with peers, technical and non-technical team members on POCs and Projects independently to drive results and business value
  • You have excellent presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills

The Value You Deliver

  • Designing, implementing, and enhancing the automated deployment of infrastructure in cloud accounts
  • Building and enhancing the deployment of cloud infrastructure as a code via the CI/CD pipeline
  • Working with the users and members from the other ECC teams to understand the challenges when managing cloud accounts related services such as IAM, VPC, AMI, CMK
  • Actively participating in planning, definition, design & integration of pipeline services  releases working with other BU SME’s/Architects as required
  • Working closely with internal ECC teams in technology selection, evaluation, policy recommendation and configuration and provide appropriate pipelines to address deployment patterns needed
  • Leading the implementation of generic common components/services aspects of pipelines, which may include applications, infrastructure, security and/or database strategies
  • Participating in defining the technical & coding standards and guidelines for the team or group as well as implementing a strong internal DevOps process
  • Participating in critical problem solving and advanced technical troubleshooting to assist the organization; driving resolution to technical issues; lead and perform impact analysis
  • Coaching and mentoring the technical team on IT Product/Application Strategy and Architecture
  • Building relationships with development teams with quick alignment of value and understanding of the business and technology
