Job Description

Veritude is hiring for a Corporate Actions Associate to work in Jersey City at Fidelity Investments.

The OSG group provides superior customer service to Fidelity’s brokerage businesses through Innovation, dedication and commitment to excellence. With seven operating divisions located throughout the country, OSG provides securities execution, clearance, and Information management services to retail, institutional, and correspondent clients. OSG performs tens of thousands of over-the-counter, listed equities, options, bonds, and mutual fund transactions daily. OSG has a need for a Specialist in Corporate Actions.

Specialist Corporate Action

This position is requiring knowledge of Corporate Actions (Reorganization and or Dividends) with an emphasis on managing their impact on the stock loan settlement business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the Corporate Action liability process relating to all impacted stock loans
  • Receive and evaluate corporate action events applicable to agency lending
  • Coordinate with Borrowers to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of Corporate Action entitlements.
  • Work with counter-parties to resolve disputed entitlement claims.
  • Interface with the Stock Loan desk on all Corporate Action related recalls


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of Corporate Actions experience (Reorg and/or Dividends)
  • 2+ years previous experience in an stock lending environment preferred
  • Knowledge of DTCC functions, Global One, and Loanet a plus
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, brokerage accounting, and securities settlement and custody preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional approach through all communication methods and the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively and assertively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be a detail oriented individual, capable of thriving in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with multiple operational tools, often toggling back and forth throughout the day
  • Knowledge of Dividend fail tracking and industry claims process.

  • Must possess the desire to learn all aspects of the department's functions, as well as the up and down stream impacts of actions taken within the department. In addition, should have an interest in the overall market
  • High degree of industry knowledge and subject matter expertise.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT, ISO, Domestic/International Corporate Action processing, working with depositories, Foreign Tax withholding a plus.
  • Computer skills should include Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects and Tableau a plus
  • Must be detailed oriented, organized and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven, high risk environment.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
