Job Snapshot

Job Description

Veritude is hiring a Graphic Designer Professional for Fidelity Investments. The position is based in New York City, NY.

Are you a creative graphic design professional who thinks strategically and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? Do you have a knack for collaborating with team members to tackle challenges of all types and drive towards the best possible creative approaches? Are you a quick learner who can partner with other creative professionals to learn new programs and adapt to changing needs and challenges?

Our Communication and Change Management team creates strategies, develops content and design, and executes campaigns to educate and encourage employees at our client firms. We develop solutions to successfully handle change, promote benefit plans and programs, increase engagement and improve the physical, financial and emotional wellness of employees. We work in all types of media, from traditional print pieces to PowerPoint presentations, website development and design, video production, and social media—you name it. In short, we deliver custom solutions uniquely designed to help each client succeed in a dynamic, evolving workplace.

A Typical Day for You

As a Graphic Design Associate, your typical day may include:

  • A meeting with the creative team to brainstorm strategies to promote a financial wellness campaign
  • Designing an e-mail for mass distribution by our Fidelity partners
  • Creating a PowerPoint template for a series of seminars on employee well-being
  • Mocking up a website design for an annual health insurance enrollment campaign
  • Laying out a print brochure and accompanying postcard and personalized statement

Your Ideal Qualities

This position might be right for you if:

  • You’re goal-oriented and love seeking big challenges
  • You’re enthusiastic about new and engaging ways to reach, engage and encourage people
  • You like change, thrive on innovation and are always thinking about new and better ways to do things
  • You have a flair for translating complex, often technical information into simple, visually engaging and easily understandable designs in a variety of media
  • You’re fanatical about PowerPoint design and formatting—after all, it’s how most of the business world communicates, and you know how important it is to meet clients “where they’re at”
  • You learn quickly, can adapt to working with people in a variety of roles, and are open to absorbing new information
  • You like to collaborate with others, but can also think and act independently
  • You want to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Getting in the Door

If you want a shot at this opportunity, you’ll need to be fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite, in particular with the InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop programs and bonus points for After Effects and Dreamweaver. You should be very comfortable with PowerPoint design and formatting, as well as with print, e-mail (HTML) and Web design. Also important are a love of “getting the point across” regardless of audience, strategic design thinking, and the desire to collaborate on the best communication approaches. If your cover letter, resume and design samples can show us these things, that’ll help get you in the door.
