Veritude is hiring an Instructional Designer in Boston, MA

The Senior Instructional Designer will work with business partners in Corporate  Services to improve business performance through learning and performance improvement solutions.

To accomplish this goal, the Senior Instructional Design / Project Manager will draw on their in-depth knowledge (theoretical and practical) to drive associate learning and ensure a measureable impact to business client goals.



Major Responsibilities:

Instructional Design: This responsibility requires the ability to perform in-depth scoping and needs analysis for moderate to complex instructional design projects with defined timelines and/or multiple deliverables (e.g., blended training solutions and/or curriculums). This responsibility also requires oversight of program delivery ensuring alignment with business needs. The fulfillment of this responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

•       Completing needs assessment for already identified training gaps

•       Presenting recommendations and justifications for training design

•       Preparing, or contributing to cohesive, in-depth design documents

•       Using innovative learning methodologies (i.e. case studies, engaging stories, motivating scenarios etc.) that meet audience and business needs

•       Reviewing work quality of less experienced project team members

•       Application of adult education principles and practices to produce learning deliverables

•       Effectively and quickly researches content using both internal and external resources

•       Leading evaluation design and assessment methods/tools to demonstrate effectiveness of training solutions

•       Designing measurable evaluation criteria to prove effectiveness of training solutions

•       Participating in implementation of internal process improvement initiatives

•       Partnering and leading eSolution Development teams in order to develop and deliver appropriate learning solutions that will meet or exceed business goals

 Client Interaction/Teamwork:

  • Promotes partnership and shared goals with the business
  • Identifies training gaps and recommends learning interventions; uses influence to shape strategy
  • Works effectively with and takes guidance from program and/or project manager(s)
  • Liaises with internal resources to determine feasibility of proposed solutions

Self-Direction and Development:

  • Takes full ownership for assigned project tasks
  • Meets or exceeds deadlines for project deliverables
  • Actively seeks feedback on quality of skill development
  • Researches and recommends new learning tools and technologies to deliver innovative and cutting-edge design solutions
  • Builds and maintains strong internal network within Fidelity’s learning community



Education and Experience:

•       8-10 years managing projects; PMP preferred but, not required

•       10+ years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing a variety of learning solutions

•       An expert in the following:  Instructional Design;  Project Management; Analysis of business goals and creation of matching performance objectives; Linkage of goals and objectives to assessment and reporting strategies; Formal documentation of designs for outsourced development

•       Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

•       Must articulate a proven track record influencing functional performance improvement

•       Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or educational technology or equivalent experience

•       Experience in financial services industry preferred
