Job Description

Veritude is seeking a Java Software Engineer for Fidelity Investments.  This position is based in Boston, MA.

The Audit IT product team is part of the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) product line within Fidelity’s Corporate Technology Group.  The Audit product team partners with corporate audit and risk  leaders from across the firm to plan, design, develop and implement solutions to help protect the firm.  The team has chosen a vended tool that will help transform audit business processes.

The Software Engineer will join the Audit Product development team.  The successful candidate will participate in the planning, design, development and system integration with the newly selected product.  This vendor product is being implemented as an off premise SaaS tool that will meet the needs of the Corporate Audit organization across Fidelity, and it is replacing several existing applications.  This is a high profile implementation within the firm.

This high profile effort provides a great opportunity to work in a cross-functional environment, with onshore and offshore resources, teaming up with technical partners as well as mid- and senior-level business customers to drive solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC including design, development, and testing.
  • Develop original and creative technical solutions.
  • Work independently on complex technical and functional analysis.
  • May determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Report status, identify issues/ risks proactively, and provide alternative plans for recovery.
  • Communicate effectively in a team oriented environment.
  • Follow Fidelity standard processes and methodologies.


  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of design & development experience. Ideally with 2 years of vendor integration and implementation experience.
  • Data integration and batch job development experience
  • Strong software development skills, including use of JAVA and JSP.
  • Experience with source code control management tools, preferably Github and Stash.
  • Experience in Release Management of code.
  • Strong analytical and design skills and excellent problem solving/debugging ability.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience working with Vendor API’s
  • Experience working with Rest API end points.

  • Report Writer experience (Cognos, OBIEE)
