Job Description

Veritude is seeking a Business Analyst for Fidelity Investments.  This position can be based in Merrimack, NH or Westlake, TX.

This group supports a breadth of customers including key decision-making bodies (e.g. Investment and Steering Committees), business and technology leadership team members, and project delivery teams. Our team collaborates with these customers to influence decision-making, inform decisions based on portfolio trends / conditions, and identify and help resolve / escalate execution risks early.

As a member of the team, the Business Analyst will work with Agile Coaches to capture and implement business requirements related to JIRA. The Business Analyst will become a JIRA SME user and develop plans to efficiently create, consolidate and mange JIRA workflows for both IT and Operational teams. The business analyst will work with various project leads throughout FPCMS to capture, plan, implement and manage JIRA changes to workflows. The business analyst will also document best practices and recommendations to use JIRA at all levels. The Business Analyst will work closely with the business and technology project leads, Program Lead, as well as interact with key business stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Compile clear and concise business requirements using a flexible and adaptable approach, emphasizing creative/ innovative strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and resources to implement JIRA changes needed for the delivery teams
  • Create workflow diagrams to visually represent business processes
  • Identify problems in terms of business requirements and recommend modifications to the functional solution as needed
  • Build strong partnerships between business and system teams
  • Act as the primary interface for business users and system resources related to JIRA issues
  • Create detailed test cases for user testing
  • Participate in and/or provide oversight for user testing and production parallel, verify and document test results and recommend solutions for any discrepancies
  • Participate in creating procedure documents and other operational staff references and resources
  • Assist in business readiness activities including creating communications, training operational staff, and other business launch activities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Requires 1- 2 experience of working in JIRA
  • Requires 1-2 years of working in a business analyst role
  • Working knowledge of agile practices around systems and technology implementations
  • Self-starter who can work independently in a challenging situation
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrated expertise with Agile and waterfall project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience of working on large programs 
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills, must be a team player and able to interface with business and IT stakeholders in order to execute objectives
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical members of the program team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
