Job Description

We are in search of a Mainframe Programmer Analyst at Fidelity Investments. This person will be based in Durham, NC. 

Our Mainframe Programmer  Analyst will perform new development, maintenance and enhancements to existing applications running in a mainframe environment.  This includes: analyzing, designing, functional analysis, application design and support, coding, unit testing, testing/QA, debugging, unit and environment integration. The mainframe programmer analyst will have a good understanding of relevant business concepts and practices. Full project life cycle experience may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coding, testing, and implementation of COBOL and CICS solutions
  • Focus on developing applications that meet user specification and expectations
  • Work with other team members to understand business requirements and propose flexible solutions
  • Provide specifications and designs in support of application development

Required Experience:

  • 8-10yrs of experience in Mainframe Systems Development, Analysis and Support
  • Brokerage/Financial Services will be a plus
  • Strong full software development life-cycle experience
  • Production rollout and post implementation support
  • COBOL, DB2/SQL, CICS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, VSAM
  • SQL Processing Unit File Input (SPUFI); FileAid, Endevor and Intertest (Preferred)
  • MAUI, MQ, REXX, EZTRIEVE (Plus)
  • Experience with Native SQL Store Procedures

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Standard PC tools and software - (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.)
  • Works independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision/direction
  • Create and execute test plans
  • Create documentation for audits, participate in audits and assist in end-user training.
  • Documentation, ability to produce the following type of documents: Business Requirements; System Requirements; Data and Architectural Flow; Technical Specification and Test Plans
