Job Description

We are looking for an Oracle Database Developer at Fidelity Investments.  This position will be in Merrimack, NH.

WI business constitutes of four different product lines Defined Contribution (DC), Defined Benefits (DB), Health & Welfare (HW) and Stock plan services (SPS).

Role Description

Senior Software Engineer for the H&W development team in WI will be responsible for development, maintenance and enhancement of projects on the Financials/Outbounds area. Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Understanding the existing financial system (FABS) and its various related components
  • Design and development of Oracle stored procedures for new projects
  • Design low level program structures and code program logic, assist with performance tuning, development and deployment
  • Peer testing, code review, and impact analysis of the modules developed by the other team members

•         Respond to production issues with analysis and remediation in a timely manner

•         Analyze and recommend improvements to the existing processes

  • Coordination with other functional groups like QA, Production Support and stakeholders from different regions

•         Provide technical leadership to junior team members

•         Occasionally, addresses small groups on technical subjects or demonstrate systems

Candidate Description

•         5-6 years of experience in Oracle, PL/SQL

•         Working knowledge of tools like TOAD, SQL Developer

•         Ability to independently code, test and debug programs

•         Familiarity with iterative life cycle tools and techniques desired

  • Exposure to UNIX Environment
  • Some exposure to programming using JAVA
