We are looking for a Quality Assurance Service Delivery Manager at Fidelity Investments. This position is based in Durham, NC.


Fidelity Investments is seeking a Quality Assurance Service Delivery Manager within our regional offices (North Carolina). The Service Delivery Manager (SDM) will have responsibility for end-to-end Quality Assurance & Testing of software applications within a specified capability cluster, and will ensure high quality software is installed into the Fidelity production environment. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to manage numerous project deliverables simultaneously within an extremely active portfolio of projects. The role involves managing test deliverables throughout the entire software project lifecycle (inception, requirements gathering, test planning, test case development/definition, test execution and transition as well as support of ongoing maintenance).

The SDM will ensure that appropriate strategies are proactively defined to prevent defects from entering the system and will play a key role in defining and reporting of metrics to all levels of the organization. The person filling this role will need to be an advocate for quality and for improvements that build integrity into the software development process. This role will have specific responsibilities for: tracking, managing and reporting on all project deliverables (including budgets); providing functional QA sign-off on all changes; ensuring audit adherence; relationship management with all project stakeholders; release coordination and have sole responsibility for management of all end-to-end  functional and regression testing deliverables for their capabilities cluster.

The SDM will serve as the primary point of escalation for all QA deliverables within their portfolio and will have responsibility to drive these escalations to resolution to support successful project delivery. As such this individual needs to be accountable and action oriented and able to bring teams to consensus on issues and their remediation.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide end-to-end functional oversight and management for QA deliverables across multiple projects within a defined capability cluster
  • Establishes/Defines metrics for status reporting, and ensures they are fully up-to-date and accurately reflected on project/program dashboards
  • Determines and communicates project/program status and health from QA perspective
  • Tracks and reports project budget
  • Ensures audit adherence/compliance to meet prescribed standards
  • Provides QA sign-off on all project related changes
  • Ensures automated smoke tests and monitoring strategies are prepared and functional for all projects/applications within their portfolio/capabilities cluster
  • Provides detailed requirements package to functional QA teams (Work Intake, Test Composition etc.)
  • Facilitates requirement review feedback loop
  • Attends project test planning, review sessions
  • Identify opportunities to make improvements
  • Serves as point of escalation
  • Manages relationships between all project stakeholders
  • Provide final resource needs at Committed Software Release (CSR) phase
  • Generates automated burn down template to be completed by Test Operations team
  • Fulfills release facilitation / release coordinator role, as required

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Finance from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience of Leadership of Quality Assurance testing and systems development lifecycles (Waterfall and/or Agile) a must
  • Demonstrated ability to Manage QA testing initiatives
