Job Description

We are looking for a Tax Analyst on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments. This position will be based in Merrimack, NH.   

This position’s primary role is to provide tax reporting assistance and problem resolution support for the Fidelity Personal Trust Company (FPTC) product offerings. The representative will be asked to perform fiduciary tax preparation related functions including: ongoing maintenance of reportable accounts including collecting and transmitting information to tax preparation vendors for update on the tax system; document movement in support of new trust accounts; liaise with business partners to obtain information needed for complete and correct return preparation; assemble and control tax filings with the federal and state governments.  The representative will provide problem resolution support for the FPTC trust offering and liaise with outside tax preparation vendors, Trust Operations, Trust Administration, PI and all FI departments.

Primary Responsibilities 

•         Maintain account tax transactions, asset basis related adjustments and corporate actions for accurate tax reporting

•         Interact frequently with Trust Administration and Trust Operations to collect information and resolve tax reporting issues

•         Liaise with outside tax preparers and tax authorities on annual filings, quarterly estimates and tax notices as well as internal business partners (Trust Officers, Trust Operations, CSM’s)

•         Meet Fiduciary Tax Group SLA’s and tax authorities deadlines

•         Create and maintain efficient and effective tax reporting processes and procedures

•         Balance a large workbasket of problem resolution items with inbound XTRAC and e-mail volume

•         Participate in team initiatives on an ongoing basis

•         Participate in projects, brainstorming sessions and testing

•         Be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment

•         Adhere to established standard PI policy and procedures

Education and Requirements 

•         Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent related experience

•         3+ years fiduciary tax preparation experience

•         Proficient with Thomson Reuters OneSource Trust Tax or equivalent tax system

•         Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel

•         Customer Problem Resolution experience with Fidelity and NFS helpful

•         Fidelity system experience: FBSI, XTRAC, TAS, CDV, etc.

Skills and Knowledge 

•         Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and vendors

•         Strong verbal and communication skills

•         Strong familiarity with financial/brokerage industry and financial instruments

•         Proven strong organizational skills and attention to detail

•         Ability to adapt easily to a constantly changing environment, juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work to maintain efficiency

•         Ability to think analytically, strategically, and tactically

•         Ability to take initiative and work independently

•         Strong team orientation and ability to function as a team player

•         Ability to work extended work hours during tax season
