Job Description

Inbound – Customer Research Role

1.   PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE

Position supports a variety of  Fidelity business units including PI, IWS, NF, Legal/Compliance, High Net Worth, Risk and Investor Centers by providing electronic or physical documentation accurately, and efficiently to authorized personnel within the agreed upon service levels via email, outgoing correspondent mail, and other means that helps support end customer research needs.

2.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze and search for requested documentation necessary to fulfill the request or inquiry of end customer account information. Research will require the use of a large variety of Fidelity legacy systems, other windows based databases, and other electronic storage mediums, along with microfiche and microfilm and knowledge of how to use these systems is a requirement. Providing this documentation accurately, and efficiently to authorized personnel within the agreed upon service levels via email, outgoing correspondent mail, and other means; helps to support the end customer research needs. Interact with specialized and crucial business partners through direct phone or email communication with Legal/Risk, High Net Worth, Advisors and Correspondents, other Fidelity managers and above, and external Fidelity vendors, including but not limited to Lake Business Products, United Parcel Service, Iron Mountain, and others in order to understand what is being asked, to most efficiently provide difficult to locate documentation. Ensure that the documents to be delivered are within all Fidelity compliance standards, through an internal audit and review for processing accuracy. This may also include checking the work of other teammates in order to ensure accuracy and prevention of privacy issues.

3.   RISK EXPOSURE

The Research Associate is responsible for high risk customer transactions. Every error has a direct and significant impact to the end customer. The associate in this role must ensure the accurate and timely item processing to prevent significant risk to the firm wide financial, reputational and regulatory risks.

4.   SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE  

§  Ability to complete assigned tasks both timely and accurately

§  Ability to work effectively in a team environment

§  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

§  Strong customer service focus

§  Ability to complete work by prioritizing multiple tasks to meet tight time constraints

§  Ability to navigate between multiple applications

§  Knowledge of Fidelity’s mainframe systems, XTRAC and various Inbound applications; including but not limited to FBSI, XTRAC, FDOT and IRF. (preferred)

§  Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.

§  Flexibility- This role requires associates to occasionally have to stay late/come in early and come in on days off

§  Ability to work in a fast paced, metric driven environment

§  Work experience in a risk controlled environment (preferred)

§  Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

5.   WORK CONDITIONS

§  Office environment, all work is completed on PC

§  Requires extensive concentration/focus for extended periods of time

§  Office work that involves the occasional lifting of boxes between 35-50 lbs.

§  Requires bending with some frequency to reach varying cabinet drawer heights for the physical pulls of microfiche and microfilm
