Veritude is hiring a Visual Designer to work in Durham, NC at Fidelity Investments. In this role, you’d work with the rest of us to understand our clients’ needs and translate them into a multi-platform user experience that exemplifies simplicity, empathy, and ease.

Responsibilities  

The Visual Designer will join the team under the direction of the UX Director. Tasked with helping establish a north star for a great customer experience, you will be collaborating closely with a cross-functional team to understand & interpret the needs of the user while balancing the needs of the business and technology. To depict how the user experience could come to life, you’ll partner with the UX Director to define ensure your designs meet both UX standards and client expectations. Strong empathy paired with the analytical and creative ability to translate business, user and technology needs into is a must. You will also:

  • Collaborate with a team of other visual designers, information architects, content strategists, prototypers, and usability specialists to tackle complex projects
  • Create highly polished visual designs for websites and web applications that are clean and elegant
  • Communicate and "sell" your design solutions to teammates, product managers, partners, etc.
  • Partner with our development team to ensure technical feasibility and create specs in order to achieve flawless implementation

Education and Experience 

  • 3+ years’ experience as a visual designer, interaction designer, experience designer or a similar role 
  • Degree in a related field, such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or Human Factors a plus
  • Experience working collaboratively to design websites and web applications that are easy for real people to use and responsive across all device viewports
  • Online Portfolio a must

Skills and Knowledge

  • Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor
  • An eye for detail, a drive for excellence, and pride in what you do
  • Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Axure and Sketch
    • Strong knowledge of interaction design and methodology  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple locations
  • Self-directed with highly developed ability to prioritize and meet deadlines  
  • Working knowledge of html, CSS and JavaScript a plus
  • Solid understanding of user research and user centered design
  • Experience with iterative solution delivery methods, such as Agile, a plus  
  • Experience with participatory design (e.g. Design Thinking) a plus
